Frequently Asked Questions about Gym Rompers

|
Gym Rompers is for you and your child, a time for exploring, crawling, running, jumping and learning together. It is a roomful of colorful equipment and new experiences - a non-competitive environment where your child is free to learn and explore with his primary teacher, his parent. It is a special time, set aside for music, laughter and self-expressing. Most of all, it's just plain fun! There is some "method to this madness" though. The work of small children is play. Playing is learning and learning is playing. Gym Rompers expands on this idea with purposeful play. The classes offer play, games, songs and exercises designed to enhance specific areas of sensory-motor development such as body awareness, balance, spatial awareness, directional awareness and temporal awareness. For example, what better way for a child to learn directional conceptions such as under, through & in than by experiencing the position firsthand. (Back to Top) |

Children between the ages of 3 months and 4 years are growing and changing rapidly. They are learning new ways of moving and using their bodies to explore their world. Gym Rompers offers many varied learning experiences to enhance this process. The classes provide an opportunity to develop your child's gross motor development, basic coordination and sensory-motor learning. You will be able to observe your child's confidence and self-esteem grow. She will beam with pride when she accomplishes a feat she wasn't able to do a few weeks earlier. With each new accomplishment the child develops a more positive self-concept and an "I can" attitude. The use of music throughout the program helps to develop your child's sense of rhythm, attention span and aural perception. Socialization is an added and important benefit for the small child. He is able to venture out socially in a "safe" environment where his mother or father are close by. (Back to Top) |
